Solar Panel Mounting Structure
Kamaxi Electrical Engineers manufactures and supplies hot-dip galvanized and pre-galvanized solar module mounting structures for RCC roofs, metal sheet sheds and ground-mounted plants. Structures are made from cold-formed C-channels and slotted struts, sized for the panel you use. Use the estimator to get a member list, a cutting plan from standard stock lengths and the total steel weight.
The Solar Plant Designer does string sizing, SLD and a complete structure BOM.

Hardware
Indicative estimate. Member sizes, frame spacing and anchoring must be checked for the site wind speed (IS 875 Part 3) and the roof condition. Cut lengths include no allowance for welding; 3 mm saw kerf is used in the cutting plan.
Structure types
RCC elevated
Front and rear legs on base plates with anchor fasteners, rafters, purlins and bracing. Tilt 10° to 25°, leg height to suit roof drainage and cleaning access.
Metal sheet shed
Low-profile struts fixed to the sheet purlins with brackets and self-drilling screws, panels follow the roof slope. Light weight, no roof penetrations beyond the fixing points.
Ground mounted
Taller legs on concrete pedestals or piles with heavier sections, suitable for open land and utility-scale plants.
Standard sections (2 mm, galvanized)
| Section | Use | 12.5 ft | 16 ft | 21 ft |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| C-channel 80×40×15×2.0 | Legs, rafters | ~10.8 kg | ~13.8 kg | ~18.1 kg |
| Slotted strut 41×41×2.0 | Purlins | ~7.6 kg | ~9.8 kg | ~12.8 kg |
What tilt angle is best in Gujarat?
For fixed rooftop structures in Gujarat a tilt of 10° to 20° is common. Lower tilt reduces wind load and row spacing; a tilt close to the latitude (about 22°) gives slightly more yearly energy.
What steel sections are used?
Legs and rafters are usually C-channel 80×40×15×2 mm (100×50 for taller or ground structures) and purlins are 41×41×2 mm slotted struts, all galvanized. Final sections depend on height, span and wind zone.
Hot-dip galvanized or pre-galvanized?
Hot-dip galvanizing after fabrication gives a thicker zinc coat and longer life, especially near the coast or in industrial areas. Pre-galvanized sections cost less and suit dry inland sites.
Do you make structures for metal sheet sheds?
Yes. Shed structures use short struts and brackets fixed to the roof purlins with self-drilling screws and EPDM washers, so the panels follow the roof slope with minimum load on the sheet.
Can you supply a structure for my exact layout?
Yes. Share the panel size, number of panels, roof type, leg height and tilt, or the output of the estimator above, and we will quote and fabricate the structure for your layout.
